Wolverhampton Tips For ITV Racing On Friday: Four LIVE ITV3 Races To Tuck Into

The ITV Racing team have been working overtime this week with the cold weather causing havoc for the horse racing fixtures around the country.

Lingfield and Market Rasen were expected to be the stars of the ITV Racing show on Friday afternoon, but both have succumbed to frozen tracks. Meaning the ITV Racing broadcast team have been hunting around for a super-sub – step forward Wolverhampton.

Being on the All Weather track, then it’s unlikely the cold spell will impact their seven-race card. Meaning the ITV3 cameras can now head to the Midlands track to take in four contests knowing they won’t have to change their plans again.

The Mick Appleby runner Educator will be popular with the best UK horse racing betting sites, but the yard are finding it hard to fire in a winner at the moment – just 3 from their last 44. CD winner Palace Boy will have his supporters too, while the consistent Artisan Dancer will leap off the card for Charlie Johnston team, but they have just a 4% SR with their older horses here.

But the ones that catch the eye are LEGACY POWER and AQWAAM. The former hails from the in-form Andrew Balding yard that have their horses in good order at the moment (21%) and also boast a 18% SR with their older runners here. This 4 year-old is well-drawn in 1 too and with only four career starts should have a lot more in the locker in terms of improvement.

Aqwaam can also go well from draw 7 for the Ian Williams stable that are also going well (20%). This 6 year-old has only finished out of the top three once from six runs on the AW and was a close third last time at Southwell. Up 2lbs here for that, but a repeat of that run would see him bang-there.

The standout runner here seems to be the Roger Varian-trained AL FARABI, who is yet to finish out of the top three from his opening four races (1 win). This will be his first try at Wolves but draw 3 look ideal having raced up with the pace in the past. Roger Varian also boasts a top 40% SR with this 4+ year-olds at the track.

Of the rest, it’s hard to ignore the good form of the Hugo Palmer yard at present too with a massive 55% SR (6-11) and so their How Impressive is worth a saver too.

Several proven course and distance winners in here – including Fieldsman, Outreach, Van Zant, Swiss Rowe and Say Grace – they all command respect based on that alone.

However, a chance is taken on the Mark Usher runner SEA THE BUCKTHORN, who is yet to win a race but has been knocking on the door. He was last seen running a length second at Kempton earlier this month in a Classified Stakes race but the return to a handicap could be the answer to him breaking his duck.

Prior to that run he’d run 4th (of 12) at Wolverhampton but was denied a clear run that day and would have got a lot closer than the 1 1/2 length at the line. Daniel Muscutt takes over in the saddle.

The other Usher runner, OUTREACH, can do best of the rest with useful claimer George Bass on to take off 3lbs. He won well at the track on Boxing Day and a 2lb hike for that in the ratings doesn’t look too harsh.

CD winner Fast Affair will be popular with the best new betting sites, but the worry here would be that the James Fanshawe team are just 2-from-31 (6%) with their 4 year-olds at the track.

Other course winners Nikki’s Girl and SOI DAO enter calculations and the last-named of those two is the most interesting with Gina Mangan riding to take off 3lbs. She won by a length last time here and looked to have enough up her sleeve to cope with the 3lb rise. Plus, the Adrian Wintle team have been amongst the winners of late too.

Of the rest, the Hollie Doyle-ridden NOBLE SOVEREIGN is also worth having on your shortlist. Draw 5 is ideal and was only 1 1/2 lengths behind Soi Dao last time, but now gets a 6lb weight pull. This should be enough to see the pair run a lot closer and with Doyle now in the saddle this is a further added plus.
