Why Has The FA Cup Final Kick Off Moved?

The FA Cup final will kick off at 3pm for the first time in 12 years, as the Metropolitan police have deemed the match to be a ‘high-risk fixture’.

This years final will be the first ever Manchester derby and with both sides coming from up north there are fears train strikes could leave supporters stranded in London on Saturday.

For the past 12 years the FA Cup final has taken place at 4:30, with the last final to not kick off at that time coming in 2012 when Chelsea and Liverpool kicked off at 5:15.

Horse Racing fans will need to note that the Epsom Derby will now be run at 13:30 on Saturday, to avoid a scheduling clash with the cup final.
