Royal Ascot Lucky 15 Tips On Day Three, Thursday 22nd June 2023

Elite Status heads the market here in the opening race on Day 3 at Royal Ascot – Ascot Gold Cup Day on Ladies Day. In his two starts to date, the 2-year-old has won both races by three and five lengths respectively at Doncaster and Sandown.
Trainer Karl Burke looks to have a highly impressive colt on his hands. Has won both races so far over five furlongs – the same distance as today’s Norfolk Stakes. Elite Status also runs off a mark of 9st 2lbs, which is down 3lb from his last run. Has a great chance here and is rightfully the betting favorite with the best horse racing betting sites.
• 3.40pm – Ribblesdale Stakes (Group 2) 1m 4f ITV: AL ASIFAH @ 5/6 with BetUK
Next up we have sided with Al Asifah in the Ribblesdale Stakes for the Gosden’s. The 3-year-old heads the market by a mile, with her nearest challengers all five of six-to-one with the best horse racing betting apps.
Like Elite Status, Al Asifah has won on her two starts to date, both at Haydock and Goodwood respective. Last time out she won impressively by six-and-a-half-lengths less than a fortnight ago at Goodwood. Runs off the same weight of 9st 2lb here and is most certainly the one to beat.

Now for the big one, the Ascot Gold Cup. The featured race of the week. Having studied the Gold Cup trends and form, here at SportsLens we have decided to back the Roger Varian-trained Eldar Eldarov to triumph.
The 4-year-old ticks a lot of boxes when it comes to selecting your Gold Cup horse. Eldar Eldarov‘s form is strong, despite a blip at Ascot last October. He ran well in the Yorkshire Cup Stakes last month at York, coming second by half a length. Is down five pounds in the weights since that run, and also steps up in trip which could be a good thing as he looks like a stayer.

• 5.35pm – Hampton Court Stakes (Group 3) 1m 2f ITV: TORITO @ 11/2 with BetUK

Frankie Dettori of course rides Epictetus for the Gosden’s, but here at SportsLens we can see Torito pipping him in a close encounter.

Won well at Epsom earlier this month in the Lester Piggott Handicap off 9st 7lbs and is down 5lb in the weights here given the step up in class. Should be there or there abouts and has every chance of winning the Hampton Court Stakes.
