Sandy Thomson has a good record at the second time of asking with horses he takes over from other yards, scoring with 14 of the 57 qualifiers since the beginning of 2017 for a profit of £100.13 to a £1 level stake at SP. Those who finished first or second on their stable debut won seven of their 15 starts in the study period for a profit of £16.30. GO BOY belied his 14-1 SP with a comfortable stable debut win at Carlisle in mid-December and can follow up.

BIG BLUE MOON (system – Tom Lacey hurdlers, beaten favourite last time out)
Tom Lacey has a good recent record with hurdlers who were beaten when starting as favourite on their latest start, scoring with 14 of the 53 runners since 2021 for a profit of £31.60 to the usual £1 stake. BIG BLUE MOON pulled up when 1108 favourite for a handicap chase at Doncaster last month and will appreciate the return to hurdles.
