NOTTINGHAM RACECARD No1s
PLATINUM PRINCE is going to be difficult to keep out of the frame in the opening 1m2f apprentice handicap at Nottingham (1.30), as Gary Moore’s five-year-old, two from two in these races when ridden by Anna Gibson, is likely to encounter the required strong pace and will appreciate the return to this grade after his odds-on Brighton defeat.
The forecast headwind will also help his come-from-behind running style and he can get RACECARD No1 buyers off to a flyer. ALL DUNN (200-1 or thereabouts at the time of writing) is not going to aid the cause in the 2.05 but the consistent DANNI CALIFORNIA (2.40) will have the race run to suit and should pick up points.
Amo Racing-owned newcomers have a great recent record and ALEX THE GREAT could go well at a price when making his debut in the 3.15, while HAVE SECRET heads the market in the 3.50. The last two racecard No1s tend to be ridden prominently – unlikely to be ideal tactics given the headwind situation – so trading out before the 4.20 race could be the right move.

KEMPTON JOCKEYS
HECTOR CROUCH has four rides priced between 7-2 and 8-1 at Kempton tonight and he looks a good buy in the Spreadex KEMPTON JOCKEYS market. He’s riding well at the moment (five winners from 27 mounts in the past fortnight) and he was on board CULTURE for the first time when Tom Ward’s six-year-old scored over trip and track last month.
RESPECTED probably needs a stiffer test of stamina but should be staying on into the frame in the 7f novice stakes (5.50) and course expert DICOLES OF ROME could well defy a 301-day absence in the 7f handicap (7.00). FIRST FOLIO (7.30), the shortest price of his four rides, is bred to appreciate the switch to Polytrack for the first time and should also be among the points.
