Spreadex offers both normal fixed odds betting plus spread betting on horse racing. There are some key differences between this form of gambling and placing regular fixed odds bets. Get the calls right and punters could win big, but the potential to lose money can be much higher. Intrigued? Then check out this how to spread bet on horse racing guide:

Andrew heads to Newcastle (jumps) and the evening AW action at Newcastle for his two recommended bets/trades  on Monday, March 5th. Follow his tips this week and all year round on horse racing betting sites with the lowdown on his latest picks below:

NEWCASTLE 2.20

TWOSHOTSOFTEQUILA, forecast to start as the 8-11 favourite in this three-runner handicap chase, could be worth taking on under a 7lb penalty for last week’s comfortable Catterick success. The seven-year-old won easily that day but did challenge wide on the better ground and may have been a shade flattered. Perhaps of greater significance is his record when returned to the track within 28 days of his previous run – form figures of 46253243 (0-8) – and he rates a sell in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market. The other two runners – YOUR OWN STORY and EQUUS DANCER – are both making their belated seasonal debuts but a small reversed-forecast on the pair could pay dividends for fixed odds punters.

Recommendation: Oppose TWOSHOTSOFTEQUILA in Newcastle 2.20

SOUTHWELL 8.30

LOUISIANA BAY is a ten-race maiden, but she’s been threatening to win for a while and was given an ill-judged ride when fourth (11-4 favourite) in a 1m4f handicap at Newcastle last month. That course and distance eats front-runners alive but the Jack Jones-trained five-year-old, ridden patiently in the majority of her recent starts, took up the running under Grace Harris before the half-way stage and was swamped inside the final furlong, finishing three lengths back in fourth place. The three runners who beat her were described by the Racing Post as ‘towards rear’, ‘slowly away, in rear’ and ‘slowly into stride, in rear’. Oisin Murphy is back on board today and he can be bought in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market.

Recommendation: Back LOUISIANA BAY in Southwell 8.30
