PRIMO was only fifth in a Class 5 course and distance last time but the patient tactics employed that day were no help, as the pace held up and the prominent racers never came back to the field. His two other 5f Southwell runs resulted in Class 6 wins and he’s back down to that level today. There should be plenty of pace on and the booking of Jason Watson takes the eye. ROCKING ENDS went into my tracker after his 20-1 Salisbury success in May, as he raced on what I suspected was the slowest part of the track. He found Listed company too hot when down the field in the Windsor Castle at Royal Ascot the following month but doubled his career tally with a comfortable Polytrack victory in July. Brett Johnson’s juvenile found only one too good when 14-1 for a 5f Chelmsford nursery on his return from a 102-day break on December 1st and the son of Havana Grey looks ready for this step up to 6f.
