Spreadex offers both normal fixed odds betting plus spread betting on horse racing. There are some key differences between this form of gambling and placing regular fixed odds bets. Get the calls right and punters could win big, but the potential to lose money can be much higher. Intrigued? Then check out this how to spread bet on horse racing guide:

Andrew found 11-4 Leicester winner WILLIAM CODY on Friday and has three recommended bets/trades sat Sandown and Chelmsford on Saturday, March 9th. Follow his tips this week and all year round on horse racing betting sites with the lowdown on his latest picks below:

SANDOWN 1.15

This 2m juvenile handicap hurdle has been a good race for the higher weighted runners, with the past ten winners numbered 1, 2, 3 or 4 on the racecard. I’m especially keen to get with top weight CASTELFORT and THROUGH THE AGES, number 2, so a sell of DOUBLE NUMBER OF WINNER at 6.4 with Spreadex is the recommendation. The Jane Williams-trained Castelfort was too green to do himself justice on his debut at Chepstow in October but still ran with credit to finish four lengths back in second. The four-year-old won his next two starts – including on heavy ground over today’s course and distance from Ithaca’s Arrow (a winner at Newbury earlier this month) – and his last-time out runner-up effort to Salver was certainly no disgrace, as the winner is unbeaten in four outings and landed a Grade 2 contest by 21 lengths on his penultimate start. Gary Moore has won three of the last five renewals and his Through The Ages, who comfortably justified skinny odds in the mud at Plumpton last time, looks the biggest danger.

Recommendation: Sell DOUBLE NUMBER OF WINNER in Sandown 1.15

SANDOWN 2.25

Nine of the last ten winners of the Imperial Cup came from off the pace, earning the following comments from the Racing Post…

…in this time frame 76 horses led or raced prominently on their most recent start and all 76 were beaten. One who is likely to be given a patient ride is Dan Skelton’s FAIVOIR, winner of last year’s County Hurdle. It looks very significant that connections are willing to miss Cheltenham in favour of today’s race and the nine-year-old usually goes well at this time of year, recording form figures in March/April of 13113051 (4-8) for a profit of £31.18 to a £1 level stake at SP. Buy at12 in the Spreadex 50-30-20-10 market or back him each-way in the fixed odds betting (8-1 at the time of writing).

Recommendation: Back FAIVOIR in Sandown 2.25

CHELMSFORD 8.00

There’s plenty of early pace in this 1m handicap from the likes of course expert WADACRE GRACE, SMART DEAL and SHOT OF LOVE. I expect Wadacre Grace to emerge best of that trio but it’s still difficult to escape the conclusion that he’ll be vulnerable to a finisher in the closing stages. Step forward EDDIE TEMPLE, who shaped with promise when a 66-1 third of seven at Sandown in September on his first start since leaving Owen Burrows for Roger Ingram. The 176-day is a slight worry but there’s compensation in the price. Buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or take a fixed odds price.

Recommendation: Back EDDIE TEMPLE in Chelmsford 8.00
