Spreadex offers both normal fixed odds betting plus spread betting on horse racing. There are some key differences between this form of gambling and placing regular fixed odds bets. Get the calls right and punters could win big, but the potential to lose money can be much higher. Intrigued? Then check out this how to spread bet on horse racing guide:

Andrew found 3-1 Newbury winner SECRET INVESTOR on Friday and has three recommended bets/trades on Saturday, March 23rd. Follow his tips this week and all year round on horse racing betting sites with the lowdown on his latest picks below:

DONCASTER 1.20

Three of the seven runners in this 1m Listed contest have found winning difficult of late yet they are three of the first four in the betting – KNIGHT, CHARYN and HOLLOWAY BOY. Knight scored on his first two career starts but is 0-5 since, Charyn is on a losing run of seven, while Holloway Boy is 0-6 since his debut win in June 2022. ASTRAL BEAU is the rock-solid alternative. Pam Sly’s five-year-old runs best fresh on good to soft or softer going and caused a 50-1 shock at Leicester on his debut back in April 2022. He was returning from a 154-day absence when landing this race by four lengths last year and his full record on ground described as good to soft or softer stands at 112113 (4-6). Buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or take a fixed odds price.

Recommendation: Back ASTRAL BEAU in Doncaster 1.20

DONCASTER 2.25

Historically, the Spring Mile – the consolation race for the Lincoln – has been a good race for four-year-olds and those aged five or older are usually worth taking on. This century, the older brigade have won just six times from 278 runners (2.2%) for a loss of £206.00 to a £1 level stake at SP (expected winners = 12.10, A/E = 0.50). Backing all the four-year-olds in the same period would have found 17 winners from 196 bets (8.7%) for a profit of £122.00 (expected winners = 10.84, A/E = 1.57). Only seven of the 18 runners are four-year-olds and the most interesting one is the Dylan Cunha-trained EXPRESSIONLESS. He won first time out last term over 1m/soft ground at Nottingham and will appreciate the return to these conditions after ending last season with three defeats over 1m2f. Buy in the Spreadex 50-30-20-10 market or take a fixed odds price.

Recommendation: Back EXPRESSIONLESS in Doncaster 2.25

NEWBURY 3.50

BIG GINGE ran an eyecatching third on his debut in a soft-ground bumper at Huntingdon last month, finishing three and a half lengths behind the winner in a 7-2 third of 12. There was a strong track bias that day, favouring horses who challenged wide on the better ground, but Nigel Twiston-Davies’ four-year-old was always in the ‘swamp’ on the inside rail. It was a solid effort in the circumstances, and he can run a big race this afternoon. Buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or take a fixed odds price.

Recommendation: Back BIG GINGE in Newbury 3.50
