SECRET INVESTOR (system – seasonal preference)
SECRET INVESTOR usually struggles in the depths of winter and is best judged on his record under rules from March to October of 2111111F11 (8-10) for a profit of £17.59 to a £1 level stake at SP. The drying ground will suit the Paul Nicholls-trained veteran and he could prove difficult to beat.
HEXHAM 3.20
HERITIER DE SIVOLA (system – Phil Kirby, very recent run)
Phil Kirby has a good record with horses who last raced between one and six days ago, scoring with 32 of the 122 qualifiers (26.2%) for a profit of £22.59 to a £1 level stake at SP (expected winners = 22.95, A/E = 1.39). HERITIER DE SIVOLA contributed with an even-money win at Newcastle last week and can score again.
HEXHAM 5.20
WAL BUCK’s (system – Lucinda Russell, Class 5 handicaps, Hexham)
Since the beginning of 2010 Lucinda Russell has a 34 from 204 record (16.7% strike-rate) in Class 5 handicaps (the lowest grade of jumps handicaps) at Hexham for a profit of £29.71 to a £1 level stake at SP. Those who ran withing the past six weeks were 29 from 136 (21.3%) for a profit of £64.38. WAL BUCK’s, owned by J P McManus, could only finish a modest fourth at Sandown last time but drops in class and this race won’t take a great deal of winning.
DUNDALK 6.30
CILL MOCHEALLOG (system – Paddy Twomey newcomers)
Backing all Paddy Twomey-trained newcomers would have found 26 winners from 107 bets (24.3%) for a profit of £65.93. This season’s first qualifiers – Procrastinate – won well-backed at the Curragh on Monday and CILL MOCHEALLOG can follow suit.
