Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino is taking no prisoners during his first week as Blues boss, as Joao Felix has already been sent packing following his Chelsea loan.

Felix had shown desire to make his loan deal permanent in the Premier League, however unfortunately for the forward his new boss has other ideas for him.

Fabrizio Romano confirmed on Tuesday afternoon that Felix will be returning to Spain this summer after 20 appearances for Chelsea this season.

Felix struggled to adjust to life in the Premier League at first, but even though Chelsea suffered through a tough season their loanee showed encouraging signs and was one of the better attacking options in a miserable campaign.

After the season finished, Felix said: ‘I don’t know yet my future. But these four, five months, I loved it. It’s a top club, everyone in the club was very good to me. My team-mates unbelievable. I really like to be here.’

But despite Felix’s wishes to stay on at the club, Pochettino has a big job on his hands clearing out players this summer and doesn’t want to splash the big fee for the Ateltico star.

There is now plenty of speculation about the future of Felix, with Atletico Madrid President Enrique Cerezo saying: “The truth is that I can’t tell you the plan with Joao.

“The news that we received yesterday is that the new manager doesn’t count on him at Chelsea. We don’t have anything planned, Joao is an Atletico player for now.”

Despite only netting four goals this season, Felix remains one of the brightest talents on the market right now and it will surely only be a matter of time before Atletico receive a bid for their star.
