Jason Weaver Royal Ascot Tips For Thursday 22nd June 23
- 2:30pm – Norfolk Stakes (Group 2) (Fillies) (Class 1) (2yo) 5f: AMERICAN RASCAL @ 9/2 with Paddy Power
Jason Weaver’s first tip on Thursday at Ascot on Day 3 at Royal Ascot comes in the opening race of the afternoon in the Norfolk Stakes. The ITV Racing pundit is siding with American Rascal for trainer Wesley Ward to win at 9/2 odds with the best horse racing betting sites.
Let’s see if the big gun can stand up to the hype as he has been all the talk throughout the week as the Wesley Ward superstar. American Rascal was not extended to win on debut in the States and has a perfect pedigree. Time to see the rocket go.
- 3:05pm – King George V Stakes (Heritage Handicap) (Class 2) (3yo) 1m 4f: WONDER LEGEND @ 7/1 with Paddy Power
The second tip for the ‘Weaver Shark’ on Day 3 of Royal Ascot comes in the form of Wonder Legend in the King George V Stakes.
He looked a massively improved model when winning by five lengths when stepped up slightly in trip at Doncaster. Weaver expects another step forward from Wonder Legend today as he goes extra quarter of a mile to 1m 4f. He could be nicely treated on a mark of just 94.
- 3:40pm – Ribblesdale Stakes (Group 2) (Fillies) (Class 1) (3yo) 1m 4f: BLUESTOCKING @ 5/1 with Paddy Power
Jason Weaver’s next betting tip on Day 3 at Royal Ascot comes in the fillies race at 3.40pm, where he is siding with Bluestocking.
This twice-raced filly made a very pleasing racecourse debut with a smooth success at Salisbury last season. Despite looking a little rough around the edges, we didn’t see her again until her reappearance at Newbury in May when she was only just outpointed by Ballydoyle’s Warm Heart (who re-opposes).
Bluestocking looked in need of the experience again that day and she will relish the step up in distance to 1m 4f now. That is key to her chances.
- 4:20pm – Ascot Gold Cup (Group 1) (Class 1) (4yo+) 2m 4f: ELDAR ELDAROV @ 7/2 with Paddy Power
The big one now. The featured race of the entire festival. It’s the Ascot Gold Cup. For the showpiece race, the ‘Weaver Shark’ is siding with Eldar Eldarov as the 7/2 second favourite with the best UK sports betting sites.
Last season’s St Leger winner made an eye-catching return to action at York last time when looking to have a little blow around the furlong marker, but then powered to the line behind Giavellotto.
He is the class act in the Gold Cup field and over this 2m4f distance, Eldar Eldarov can use his potent change of gear to win.
- 5:00pm – Britannia Stakes (Heritage Handicap) (Colts & Geldings) (Class 2) (3yo) 1m: ROYAL CAPE (e/w) @ 20/1 with Paddy Power
The ‘Weaver Shark’ is taking one from either side of the track to combat any draw bias. The consistent and lightly-raced Royal Cape didn’t get into his race until very late at Haydock last time and that run has to be upgraded on his first handicap start. He races from stall two.
- 5:00pm – Britannia Stakes (Heritage Handicap) (Colts & Geldings) (Class 2) (3yo) 1m: MUSTAJAAB (e/w) @ 33/1 with Paddy Power
Weaver’s second each-way selection in the Britannia Stakes comes in the form of 33/1 shot Mustajaab.
Mustajaab runs from stall 23 and was just chinned by a pretty tidy sort in Yorkshire at Southwell last time. He’s a half-brother to Checkandchallenge and he’s going to appreciate this one mile test on turf.
- 5:35pm – Hampton Court Stakes (Group 3) (Class 1) (3yo) 1m 2f: TORITO @ 9/2 with Paddy Power
Jason Weaver’s penultimate betting tip on Thursday at Royal Ascot sees him side with the current betting favourite in Torito for the Gosden yard.
Torito did us a favour when winning really smoothly at Epsom but has to improve again on that in this tougher Group 3, Hampton Court Stakes.
- 6:10pm – Buckingham Palace Stakes (Handicap) (Class 2) (3yo+) 7f: SPIRIT OF LIGHT (e/w) @ 16/1 with Paddy Power
Jason Weaver’s final tip on Day 3 at Royal Ascot comes in the final race of the day in the shape of Spirit Of Light as a 16/1 outsider with the best horse racing betting apps.
Spirit Of Light has run a handful of decent races since being switched across to Ian Williams’ yard and put up a smart performance over a trip short of his best at York last time. Stepping back up to 7f is ideal and expect him to be flashing home from stall 30, under the excellent James Doyle.
