Jamie Carragher And Roy Keane Call For David De Gea To Be Sold After FA Cup Final Nightmare

Roy Keane and Jamie Carragher came to an agreement that Manchester United should sell David De Gea this summer, following a horror show in the FA Cup final.

Manchester United suffered a 2-1 loss to bitter rivals Manchester City on Saturday afternoon, with an Ilkay Gundogan double putting the Cityzens one step closer to a coveted treble.

Gundogan scored after just 18 seconds at Wembley, with David De Gea rooted to the spot after the German volleyed a sweet strike to his left.

De Gea arguably could’ve done better for Manchester City’s second, as he dived low to his right and got fingertips to Gundogan’s scuffed strike only to see the ball sneak into the corner of the goal.

Roy Keane was particularly harsh post-match on De Gea, with the former United midfielder calling for Erik Ten Hag to sign a new keeper this summer.

“High stupidity from Fred but we have seen that so much over the last few years. City have done this set piece before with someone from the edge of the box. He doesn’t hit it that cleanly and it goes through bodies but United have to get a new keeper.

“They need a world-class goalkeeper and he isn’t. We will keep talking about it. Some of these players aren’t good enough for United. They have to spend the money to get the players United deserve.”

United have made signing a new striker their new number one priority this summer, but Jamie Carragher believes they should focus on finding a better number one.

“DDG is a big problem for Man United, is fixing that position more important than them signing a striker.”

De Gea won the Premier League golden glove with United this season but despite keeping the most clean sheets in the league, the Spaniard has received plenty of criticism this season and could be on his way out of Old Trafford.
