Manchester City are odds-on to win the treble after beating Manchester United 2-1 in the FA Cup final on Saturday.

According to Champions League betting sites, the Citizens are 1/4 to lift the trophy for the first time in the club’s history against Inter in Istanbul next week.

Pep Guardiola’s side are aiming to become the first team to complete the iconic Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League treble since Sir Alex Ferguson’s United in 1998/99.

City dominated the affair at Wembley and Ilkay Gundogan scored twice, including the fastest goal in FA Cup final history – stunning the Reds after just 13 seconds.

Bruno Fernandes equalised from the spot before half time after Jack Grealish’s handball awarded United a penalty, but Gundogan responded six minutes after the interval.

Questions were asked of David De Gea for both goals and it’s becoming seemingly clear that the club’s decision on his contract will reflect their long-term ambition – another disappointing display.

Manchester United were denied a second domestic trophy in Erik ten Hag’s debut season as manager, but the foundations have been laid for another promising season at Old Trafford.

The Reds are likely to come short of rivalling their noisy neighbours once again next season, who are widely regarded as the best football team on the planet.

City were beaten 1-0 by Chelsea in the Champions League final two seasons ago and fell narrowly short of a final appearance last season, losing in the semi to eventual winners Real Madrid.

The final kicks off from 8pm BST at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Turkey next Saturday.
