ITV Racing Tips From Doncaster – 1-2-3 Best Bets On 27th Jan 2024

2:05 Doncaster Yorkshire Rose Mares’ Hurdle (Grade 2) (GBB Race) Cl1 (4yo+) 2m½f ITV

SportsLens (Kyle Curran) 1-2-3 Tips: ASHROE DIAMOND is the pick from the two Willie Mullins market leaders in this Grade 2 Mares’ Hurdle, with this step back down in trip to an extended 2m expected to suit.

Ashroe Diamond was beaten by two good types in Teahupoo and Impaire Et Passe on her seasonal reappearance, so that can be forgiven after what was a 238 day break.

She ended last season with two good wins in her final races in novice company, and should come on for that third last time out and looks to be the one to beat here. With winning form over 2m and versatility ground wise, she is the worthy favourite for this one and looks a solid bet at 13/8.

Stablemate Gala Marceau was last seen winning at Auteuil back in May and should be feared on seasonal debut. Meanwhile Stainsby Girl for the Alexander Family has been running in good races so far this season and is likely not to be too far away.

  • ASHROE DIAMOND @ 13/8
  • Gala Marceau
  • Stainsby Girl

2:40 Doncaster Albert Bartlett River Don Novices’ Hurdle (Grade 2) (GBB Race) Cl1 (5yo+) 3m½f ITV

SportsLens (Kyle Curran) 1-2-3 Tips: I LOVE MY BAIE won in convincing fashion in a four-horse race at Perth last time out and looks to be a smart prospect in the “Double Green” of Simon Munir and Isaac Souede for Stuart Crawford.

He goes up to over 3m for the first time, but he is bred to stay and Daryl Jacob said over the summer that his mount will relish a step up to 3m – and connections look to have found the race to do so.

I Love My Baie can be a nice each-way play here in a race that should suit more than the Classic Novices’ Hurdle he was also entered in at Cheltenham.

Welcome To Cartries could be a good thing for Paul Nicholls, so will surely be involved after getting off the mark over hurdles last time out for his top yard. Ruth Jefferson’s Kerryhill won over 3m in a ptp  last year, and has made a bright start under rules so he should play a part.

  • I LOVE MY BAIE @ 8/1
  • Welcome To Cartries
  • Kerryhill

3:15 Doncaster Great Yorkshire Handicap Chase (Premier Handicap) (GBB Race) Cl1 (5yo+) 3m ITV

SportsLens (Kyle Curran) 1-2-3 Tips: FAMOUS BRIDGE has been in fine form so far this season for the Nicky Richards stable and should make his presence felt in this very open Great Yorkshire Chase.

He has won his last races, both at Haydock and can still improve with the Grand National potentially on the horizon in April.

The son of Fame And Glory has turned into a thorough stayer and another win here could further strengthen his credentials for the big one at Aintree in the spring.

Somehow, Mister Coffey is still yet to win over the bigger obstacles but he returns to Doncaster after a valiant second here back in December and can run a good race again for Nicky Henderson. Hascoeur Clermont is an interesting Irish raider who won well at Cheltenham in November, and whilst he underperformed in a tougher race at Ascot last time, Gavin Cromwell’s charge is respected.

  • FAMOUS BRIDGE @ 7/1
  • Mister Coffey
  • Hascoeur Clermont
