12.30 Coral Champagne Stakes Group 2, 7f ITV
1. SILVER KNOTT 2. Chaldean 3. Indestructible
SILVER KNOTT @ 4/5 with VirginBet can give Godolphin a win here and add to their 2013 and 2015 successes in the race. This Charlie Appleby runner has won two of his three runs and was impressive last time in the G3 Solario Stakes at Sandown – winning by 3 1/4 lengths. Chaldean beat Indestructible by 1/2 a length last time in the G3 Acomb and so there shouldn’t be a lot between that pair for the places.
- Key Trends
- 20/21 – Returned 8/1 or shorter in the betting
- 19/21 – Won 1 or 2 times previously
- 18/21 – Favourites placed
- 17/21 – Had won over 7f before
- 17/21 – Finished third or better last time out
- 16/21 – Won by a Feb or March foal
- 13/21 – Won last time out
- 12/21 – Run at Sandown, Newbury, York or tÂÂhe Curragh last time out
- 9/21 – Raced 3 or more times that season
- 9/21 – Winning favourites
- 4/21 – Won by Godolphin
- 4/21 – Ridden by Frankie Dettori
- 2/21 – Won by the Charlie Appleby yard
- 2/21 – Winners from stall 1

1:00 – Cazoo Handicap Cl2 (4yo+ 0-105) 6½f
1. FOOLS RUSH IN (e/w) 2. Asjad 3. Mums Tipple
FOOLS RUSH IN (e/w)Â @ 12/1 with VirginBet was a good winner at Chester two runs back and you can ignore his run last time at the same track as was drawn in wide and hated it. He’s had 3 weeks to get over that run and back on a straight track will be more at home. He’s only 3lbs higher than when winning two runs ago and Jamie Spencer looks the perfect partner for this 4 year-old that likes to come from off the pace. Course winner Asjad is no stranger to bouncing back and is considered too, while Mums Tipple with Ryan Moore riding was a close second last time at Ascot and should like the extra half furlong.
- Key Trends
- 12/12 – Didn’t win last time out
- 12/12 – Ran in the last 8 weeks

- 8/12 – Carried between 8-10 and 8-13 in weight
- 7/12 – Had run at Doncaster before
- 7/12 – Irish bred
- 1/12 – Winning favourites
- 0/12 – Winners from stall 1
1:35 – Wainwright Flying Childers Stakes (Group 2) Cl1 (2yo) 5f ITV
1. THE PLATINUM QUEEN 2. Trilluim 3. Malrescia
THE PLATINUM QUEEN @ 6/4 with VirginBet was a cracking runner-up in the Nunthorpe Stakes at York last time out and with the form of that run getting a further boost with Emaraaty Ana running second in the Haydock Sprint Cup last week, this Richard Fahey 2 year-old looks worth sticking with. Hannon’s Trillium showed a good turn-of-foot to win the Molecomb Stakes at Glorious Goodwood at the end of July and shouldn’t be underestimated. Malrescia, who is yet to run out of the top three in her opening 6 races, has place claims for the George Boughey team.
- Key Trends
- 17/18 – Had raced in the last 4 weeks
- 15/18 – Drawn in stall 7 or lower
- 14/18 – Placed horses from stall 2 or 3
- 14/18 – Had won at Listed or Group class before
- 13/18 – Won 1-2 times before

- 7/18 – Ran at York last time
- 6/18 – Foaled in April
- 5/18 – Trained by the Richard Hannon yard
- 5/18 – Won last time out
- 1/18 – Irish-trained winners
- 1/18 – Winners from stall 1
2:10 – Coral Portland Handicap 5½f
1. INTRINSIC BOND (e/w) 2. Whenthedealisdone 3. Chipstead
INTRINSIC BOND (e/w) @ 18/1 with VirginBet is worth giving another giving another chance too after running well below-par last time at Thirsk. Before that this Tracy Waggott runner has won well at Ripon and Thirsk but is also a proven course winner here at Doncaster. High draws have also done well over the years in this race so the 19 berth is also a plus. Of the rest, the Roger Teal pair Whenthedealisdone and Chipstead, who are both head here off the back off good wins, can also get involved from high draws.
- Key Trends
- 19/20 – Carried 8-12 or more
- 17/20 – Had run 5 or more times that season
- 16/20 – Came from a double-figure stall
- 16/20 – Won over 6f before
- 15/20 – Returned a double-figure price in the betting
- 14/20 – Winner rated between 95 and 102

- 12/20 – Won 4 or more times in their career
- 10/20 – Unplaced Favourites
- 10/20 – Placed in their last race

- 5/20 – Winning favourites
- 4/20 – Raced at Ripon last time out
- 3/20 – Won by the Kevin Ryan yard
- 3/20 – Won last time out
- 10 of the last 11 winners were aged 5 or younger
2:45 – Coral Doncaster Cup Stakes (Group 2) (British Champions Series) Cl1 (3yo+) 2m2f ITV4
1. TRUSHAN 2. Get Shirty 3. Coltrane
TRUSHAN @ 3/10 with VirginBet should have little trouble in taking this – he’s rated 124 and that’s 11lbs higher than the next best in the race – Coltrane. This Alan King runner was a fine third in the Goodwood Cup last time out, but doesn’t have to face those that finished ahead of him that day – Stradivarius and Kyprios. Any rain will further add to his chance, but it would be a shock if he’s not taking this. The already mentioned Coltrane, who was 4th in the Goodwood Cup, can place, while Ebor Handicap fourth Get Shirty can also pick up a podium finish.
- Key Trends
- 19/21 – Had won over 1m6f or further before

3.20 Cazoo Park Stakes Group 2, 7f
1. KINROSS 2. Al Suhail 3. Garrus
KINROSS @ 6/5 with VirginBet can provide jockey Frankie Dettori with another big race win and add to his success in this race in 2020. This Ralph Beckett-trained 5 year-old powered away with the City Of York Stakes last time out and so a repeat of that run, in what looks a slightly weaker Group Two, should be good enough. Godolphin’s Al Suhail, with William Buick doing the steering, and Garrus can give the pick most to think about.
- Key Trends

- 9/19 – Placed horses from stall 1

- 4 Irish-trained winners in the last 13 runnings
3.55 Cazoo St Leger Stakes Group 1, 1m6½f
1. NEW LONDON 2. Hoo Ya Mal 3. Emily Dickinson
NEW LONDON @ 11/10 with VirginBet can give Godolphin their eighth win in the St Leger. He was a top winner of the Gordon Stakes at Glorious Goodwood last time out – which is a fair trial for the St Leger and the second that day, Deauville Legend has since franked the form to win the Great Voltigeur, which is another decent trial event for this Group One Classic. No Deauville Legend to deal with here and also had Hoo Ya Mal, who is yet to finish out of the first three in his races, back in third last time at Goodwood so can have his measure again too. Of the others, with the Aidan O’Brien yard having a top record in the race, their Emily Dickinson could easily out run her odds.
