Constitution Hill Champion Hurdle Odds

The fourth race of the 2023 Cheltenham Festival gets underway on Tuesday 14th March. The race takes place at 3.30pm, with the Champions Hurdle taking centre stage. This Grade 1 race is one of the biggest on the opening day of the Festival, and there are some fantastic horses on show here.

One of the standout horses in the Unibet Champion Hurdle Challenge Trophy is the Nicky Henderson trained Constitution Hill.

The 6-year-old gelding currently sits as the heavy favourite at odds of around 4/11 with the best horse racing betting sites. Constitution Hill boasts a six race winning run coming into the Champion Hurdle, including being unbeaten in five starts over hurdles.

His solo run at Cheltenham came last year when he romped home by an impressive 22 lengths to Jonbon in the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle. If he can replicate that kind of run again here, we could see a similar story with Constitution Hill winning at a canter.

Jockey Nico de Boinville will likely be in the saddle on Constitution Hill – a horse and jockey duo that are well acquainted with each other. Due to his performance last year at the Cheltenham Festival and his last few runs, Constitution Hill is rightfully the overriding betting favourite here.

Nicky Henderson will be confident of a win for Constitution Hill and he certainly looks a strong horse and the one to beat here in the Champion Hurdle.

Constitution Hill could go into the Champion Chase as the shortest-priced horse in the race ever. He is the most eye-catching horses in this race, and has looked unbeatable in recent runs which is backed up by his super short Cheltenham odds.

Two Mullins’ horses in Vauban and State Man could be Constitution Hill’s biggest threats, but it looks like the gelding will be incredibly tough to beat here in the Champion Hurdle.

Henderson’s  6-year-old is the overriding betting favourite, with fellow legendary trainer Willie Mullins also entering a few hopefuls like State Man and Vauban in the fourth race on Day 1 in the Champion Hurdle.
