Four of the last six winners of this had previous Chepstow successes under their belt, so TEA CLIPPER @ 5/4 with Virgin Bet makes obvious appeal. Tom Lacey’s charge has victories at this meeting in each of the last two seasons, so goes well fresh and loves the track.
The drop back slightly in trip from two hotly competitive staying handicaps at last term’s Cheltenham Festival, then at Aintree, should also help Tea Clipper at his happy hunting ground. He’s also dropped back down to his last winning mark, so he just had to be among Chepstow racing tips as a meeting hat-trick beckons.
Kitty’s Light will have supporters after being a desperately unlucky loser of this 12 months ago. Regular jockey Jack Tudor has ridden out his claim, however, and that doesn’t help the cause for one of two runners for local trainer Christian Williams.
Previous course and distance winner Gats And Co is one for the shortlist as well. His handler, David Brace, and son Connor like nothing better than targeting this meeting. Peregrine Run has no easy task at the grand old age of 12 saddling topweight, meanwhile, for all he likes good ground. The rest all have questions to answer.

If McFABULOUS can jump a fence, he ought to win this @ 8/11 with Virgin Bet hands down with trainer Paul Nicholls always targeting this meeting. Four of the last seven winners are either past course winners or previously placed at Chepstow. McFabulous ticks every box on paper, for all he’s one of the short price Chepstow racing tips here.
A class act and rated in 150s over hurdles, he’s a four-time Grade 2 winner. McFabulous landed the latest of those at Sandown races at the end of last season. His good record fresh and form in that other sphere give him leading and obvious claims.
The rest are playing for places. Sebastopol brings experience of fences and a course win to his name. That apart, Lacey’s runner has had a luckless steeplechasing career and looks booked for second spot. Going back up in trip should suit Sebastopol based on his back horse racing results and hurdles form.
On ratings over the smaller obstacles, Victorias Peak and Inferne De Sivola have tons to find. Marginal preference is for the former, who has a Point background and won his first start for Nigel Twiston-Davies after leaving Milton Harris.

Just four declared like the Listed race but the marginal outsider FLIC OU VOYOU, @ 100/30 with Virgin Bet, has plenty going for him. A previous course winner trained by Nicholls, he’s only 1lb above his last winning mark when bolting up over roughly this trip at Doncaster. Flic Ou Voyou also placed in a Listed handicap off this rating at Sandown in March. He another of the Chepstow racing tips from Ditcheat here.
Despite the welter burden of 12st, Paint The Dream can’t be ignored either. Connor Brace rides last year’s winner, with the jockey seeking a hat-trick in this race. While this is much easier than his last assignment, a Grade 1 at Aintree’s Grand National meeting, Paint The Dream is 10lb higher in the weights than 12 months ago.
Both six-year-olds could still have more to offer, meanwhile. It’s a marginal preference, but Galahad Quest ran a blinder over this trip when placed in Listed company at Wetherby races on reappearance last season. He’s now 3lb below that on his debut for Jane Williams. Light N Strike is 6lb higher than when winning at Stratford and this demands more.

The big betting race at Chepstow racecourse may have been downgraded but LORD BADDESLEY might be a bit of value @ 5/1 with Virgin Bet here. Unexposed at the trip, she shaped like a stayer on both of his last completed starts. Lord Baddesley fell when we last saw him, but was going very easily before coming to grief four out.
In here on the same mark as when fourth in the Betfair Hurdle at Newbury races, he is better off at the weights with re-opposing duo Kanppers Hill and Broomfield Burg. Both were in-behind Lord Baddesley that day for all the former has cleared improved since. That’s why he features among Chepstow racing tips for this feature contest.
Knappers Hill, unbeaten in two starts here, is 6lb higher than their last encounter but won with plenty in hand at Sandown to justify his rise. Zabeel Champion makes just his second handicap hurdle start up in trip and could be anything off bottom weight.
Bourbali has course and distance form figures of 12, and made progress of his own last season for Team Tizzard. If he carries on where he left on when completing a hat-trick at Plumpton, he may well hit the frame.

4:37 Paul Ferguson’s Jumpers To Follow 4-Y-O Hurdle (A Limited Handicap) Cl2 (4yo) 2m SKY

A substandard renewal on ratings, but competitive and BAGHEERA GINGE @ 5/1 with Virgin Bet, who held other entries at this meeting, is an interesting contender. Nigel Twiston-Davies landed this in 2019 and his summer jumps form has worked out really well. That plays its part in this horse rounding off Chepstow racing tips for 8 October.
If Bagheera Ginge was good enough to give weight and a beating to his elders last time out at Newton Abbot, then stepping back against horses of his own age should hold no fears. Early market leaders Mothill and Winterwatch are talking horses.
Impulsive One showed enough ability to win a Listed juvenile hurdle at Musselburgh races last season before butting heads with old rival Knight Salute. Despite topweight, Nicky Henderson’s Simon Munir and Isaac Souede owned runner is now just 2lb above his last winning mark.
Fred Winter fifth Too Friendly has over six lengths to find with that one from Aintree races off 4lb better terms. Team Skelton won this in 2014, so he can’t be discounted Milton Harris runs two and Appreciate was well-treated enough to win handicaps against his elders this summer.
While this demands more, it’s easier than the Class 2 contest he ran in at Market Rasen races the last day despite being 2lb out the handicap. Silver Shade appears the stable’s first string on handicap hurdle debut. Saint Segal was runner-up over course and distance, so shouldn’t be forgotten about either.
