Frankie Dettori has not been in action since winning last Sunday’s Prix Jacques le Marois in France on Inspiral but he’s back in the saddle this weekend – riding just ONE horse.

Frankie Dettori Will Ride Arrest On Saturday at Newbury – His Only Ride Of The Day
If you are a horse racing fan – then, unless you’ve been on the planet Zog for the last 6 months, you’ll know the popular Italian jockey Frankie Dettori is retiring at the end of this year.
The Melbourne Cup at Flemington Park is rumoured to be Frankie’s final outing on Tuesday 7th November, but there’s still a lot of racing to take in before then – including the York Ebor Festival next week, Champions Day at Ascot, the St Leger fixture at Doncaster and the Breeders’ Cup in the US.
Frankie was last seen in winning action when landing the Group One Prix Jacques le Marois on the Gosden-trained Inspiral last Sunday – a race he’s won for a record 8 times now.
Since that success the pocket Italian hasn’t been on the track, but after six days off he’s back this Saturday (19th August) at Newbury – but for just one ride.
Dettori will get the leg-up in this year’s Chester Vase winner ARREST in the Group Three Geoffrey Freer Stakes (1:50pm).

The 3 year-old Arrest was last seen running down the field in the King Edward VII Stakes at Royal Ascot – beaten 12 lengths that day as a 3/1 shot having never really looked at home.
Prior to that was also a poor 10th (of 14) in the Epsom Derby, so off the back of these below-par runs you feel there are not too many chances left for this well-bred Frankel colt.
Connection are, however, giving Arrest every chance to bounce back by dropping him into a Group Three and the last time he raced in this company he bolted up by 6 1/2 lengths in the Chester Vase (watch below), which came on soft ground.
Some might point to the firmer conditions in his last two races being a negative, but he’d won on good-to-firm last year at Sandown.
But in his defence, he did lose a shoe in the Derby.
He’s also up in trip on Saturday to 1m 5 1/2f, which suggests Gosden and Dettori feel he’ll improve for the extra yardage.
Arrest will face seven others in Saturday’s Newbury race, including Godolphin’s Kemari, who is the favourite with most of the best UK horse racing betting sites.
However, he’ll get a handy 6lbs from Kemari and with Arrest also being the top-rated in the field (110) then if returning to form is still going to have plenty of backers.
Can Frankie work his old magic and ‘police’ the Newbury race on Arrest?
