- 1.30: JCB Triumph Hurdle ITV1: LOSSIEMOUTH @ 6/4
Talented grey mare that has won three of her four starts over hurdles. Her unbeaten record, however, burst last time at Leopardstown in the Spring Juvenile Hurdle, but wasn’t given a great ride that day. Met a lot of traffic issues during the race, but jockey Paul Townend is sticking with her and with better luck in-running has a huge chance of getting back to winning ways for trainer Willie Mullins.

Very useful hurdler on his day and normally seen in the Champion Hurdle at the Festival, where he was second in 2021. However, he’s not getting any younger at 10, so has been dropped into a handicap today. Top-weight of 12st makes life hard, but he’s the highest-rated in the field and has a very consistent profile. The last time he was out of the first three was 10 races back – in 2020!

Mud-lover that will want the rain to come before the Gold Cup really. Stamina and staying is ‘his thing’, but was a fair 5th in the race 12 months ago, so not without a squeak for the e/w players. Any more of the ‘wet-stuff’ and you can expect to see his 40/1 vanish.
- 4.50: Mares’ Chase RTV: ALLEGORIE DE VASSY @ 13/8
The second of the Ricci bankers today and another talented mare – he loves his ladies! This 6 year-old has gone into many a notebook this season after winning both chase starts by 19 lengths. The last was a G2 at Thurles and with age on her side she looks another Ricci mare to have a stack of ‘Girl Power’.
