Wolves’ odds of facing Premier League relegation have been priced at 10/3 after losing 2-0 to Liverpool at Anfield this evening.
Julen Lopetegui’s side came into this one in fairly good form, having lost just one of their previous four Premier League outings.
The reverse fixture took place at the Molineux just under a month ago, where Wolves defeated Liverpool with a mightily impressive 3-0 scoreline.
Jurgen Klopp’s men were out for revenge and were looking to bounce back this evening however. The Reds were without a win in two games prior to this evening.
It wasn’t the start Lopetegui was hoping for at Anfield tonight. Spanish youngster Hugo Bueno was forced off due to injury, with Rayan Ait-Nouri coming on in his place.
The visitors held on well in the first-half – taking a goalless scoreline into the break.
Darwin Nunez and Ibrahima Konate returned to the Liverpool lineup after recovering from injury, and it was the Uruguayan that netted the opener.
Celebrations for Nunez’ 67th minute opener were short-lived, unfortunately for Liverpool fans, as VAR cancelled the 23-year-old’s effort for a foul in the buildup.
It didn’t take long after that for the Reds to have their opener, though. Virgil van Dijk was the one to open the scoring, heading home from a Diogo Jota cross.

Klopp’s men were ruthless after the opener. Mohamed Salah netted the second just four minutes later – assisted by Kostas Tsimikas.
Liverpool‘s double was enough to condemn Wolves to their 13th league defeat of the season – a return that sees them sit 15th in the table.

Lopetegui’s side now sit just three points above the relegation zone.
It’s another tough fixture for the Midlands-based side up next. Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur make the trip to the Molineux for a Premier League clash on Saturday afternoon.
