Harry Skelton Wife: Fellow Rider Bridget Andrews Is Married To The Former Champion Jockey
Harry Skelton and Bridget Andrew are both horse racing jump jockeys that ride mainly in the UK. The pair have face-off may times over the years on the track (watch below) but were also joined in holy matrimony in 2019.
Married life clearly suited Skelton too as a few years later in 2021 he became champion jumps jockey after riding 152 winners.
Two of these 2021 winners included My Drogo winning the Mersey Novices’ Hurdle and Manifesto Novices’ Chase on Protektorat at the Aintree Grand National Meeting. With the last-named also going onto win the 2022 Betfair Chase at Haydock.
Skelton’s wife, Bridget Andrews is no stranger to winning on the big stage either – landing the County Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival twice. Once with Moyaayed (see below) and in 2023 with 33/1 outsider Faivoir.
Both were also trained by her husband’s brother Dan Skelton.

Who Is Jockey Bridget Andrews (Now Skelton)?
Bridget Andrews (now Skelton) is a National Hunt jumps jockey that has ridden over 60 winners.
Having started out in pony racing, Andrews joined the Dan Skelton yard as a conditional jockey in 2015.
Andrews became only the second pro lady rider to win a race at the Cheltenham Festival, when she won the 2018 County Hurdle on Mohaayed.
Lizzie Kelly was the first, who had ridden a winner on the Ultima Chase at the same meeting.
Racing runs in the blood too, as Bridget Andrews’ sister is fellow jumps jockey Gina Andrews, who has also tasted Cheltenham Festival success, when riding Domesday Book to win the 2017 Kim Muir Challenge Cup.
Other big wins have included Roksana, who won the Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle Finale at Newbury and also Protektorat in the Many Clouds Chase at Aintree.
Injury struck in April 2022 though, when Bridget Andrews had a nasty fall on a horse called Dazzling Glory at Warwick. She broke three vertebrae in her neck that day.
She’s since recovered and bounced back to win the Lanzarote Hurdle at Kempton in January 2023 on the Dan Skelton-trained West Bilboa.

It’s also ‘congrats’ to the jockey golden couple after announcing in December 2023 they are expecting their first child. Which will be due in 2024.

Harry Skelton Crowned Champion Jumps Jockey In 2021
Having ridden 152 winners during the 2020/21 jumps season this was enough to crown Harry Skelton campion jockey that season.
This remains the sole year to date that Harry Skelton has been champion jumps jockey.
Harry Skelton The Brother Of Trainer Dan Skelton
Harry Skelton is also the younger brother to trainer Dan Skelton, who was the former assistant with the champion trainer Paul Nicholls.
Dan Skelton provides his brother Harry with the bulk of his rides and have teamed up over the years with big race success at the Cheltenham Festival. These included Roksana (Mares’ Hurdle 2019), Ch’tibello (County Hurdle, 2019) and Langer Dan (Coral Cup, 2023).
Who Is Harry Skelton’s Father?
Equine skills run deeper in the Skelton family too. Harry and Dan’s father is the former Olympic gold medallist Nick Skelton.
Nick Skelton won a team gold medal at the Olympics at London 2012 with Big Star. He then added to that four years later at Rio, on the same horse, when taking gold in the individual.
