A 35-year-old man has been charged with assault after kicking Aaron Ramsdale on Sunday against Tottenham.

Metropolitan Police confirmed he faces charges of assault by beating, going onto an area adjacent to a playing area and throwing a missile onto a football playing area.

The man from Hackney is due to appear at Highbury Magistrates’ Court on 17 February.

Unsavoury Scenes

It was an important game for both teams. Arsenal needed three points to extend their lead over Man City and the chasing pack. Tottenham needed three points to keep in touch with the top four.

Arsenal came out on top in the game after another error by Hugo Lloris and Martin Ødegaard goal from distance.

Spurs weren’t able to answer back to either of the Arsenal goals and ‘keeper Aaron Ramsdale, known for his wind up antics, made sure the home fans knew it.

Ramsdale was seen laughing and joking with the Spurs fans, but things turned ugly after the final whistle.

The action caused outrage amongst Arsenal players. Not every Spurs player seeing the action, things threatened to boil over between the players.

Spurs will likely face fines from the FA and Premier League for the incident. The fan is likely to receive a ban from attending games in the future.
