Templegate NAP Of The Day On Saturday 13th January 2024

  • 3:00 Warwick: Classic Handicap Chase: MALINA GIRL (NAP)

The Templegate best bet today comes in the Classic Chase at Warwick where he feels the Irish raider Malina Girl is the one to beat. She won well at Cheltenham in November – beating Cloudy Glen by 10 lengths (watch below) and also had another of today’s runners Guetapan Collonges back in third.

She was also going well in her next race – again at Cheltenham – at their December Meeting until falling three out. With the 7 year-old travelling sweetly at the time there would have been every chance she’d have served it up to the eventual winner Broadway Flyer that day. Conor Stone-Walsh, who rode that day, remains in the saddle to claim a handy 5lbs, which will help with 12st to carry. Templgate is taking her to make amends today for the Gavin Cromwell yard.

  • 2:07 Kempton: Silviniaco Conti Chase: BANBRIDGE (NB)

Templegate’s second best tip of the day comes at Kempton in the Silviniaco Conti Chase and he’s opting for another Irish runner. Banbridge comes over from the Joseph O’Brien yard and the fact connections are bringing him over on his first run of the season speaks volumes.

This former Cheltenham Festival winner was last seen taking the Manifesto Novices’ Chase at the Aintree Grand National meeting last April (watch below) and despite this being his first step outside Novice company is still only 8 and should have a lot more to offer. Regular rider JJ Slevin also makes the trip over to ride.
