Shishkin Odds For King George VI Chase 2023

Horse racing punters betting on SHISHKIN for the King George VI Chase will be hoping this talented (but sometimes quirky) Nicky Henderson-trained 9 year-old actually starts the race.

Last time backers didn’t get a run for their money as he refused to race – planting himself at the start in the 1965 Chase at Ascot in November. So his supporters will be in for a nervy time when the tape goes up.

Since then Henderson has tried his best to get a run into him, having been entered in the Rehearsal Chase and the Fighting Fifth Hurdle at Newcastle but this failed to happen for one reason or another.

So, Shishkin, who is owned by Joe Donnelly, will head to the King George without a real run since April and also with punters wondering if he’ll repeat what he did at Ascot.

That said, Shishkin is still a very talented horse that has won 9 of his 13 starts over fences, while more importantly he’s yet to lose a race at Kempton. He’s raced at the Sunbury-on-Thames venues four times and won on each occasion (3 times over fences).
