- 1:45pm The Mildmay Novices’ Steeple Chase (Class 1) Grade 1 3m 1f: BRONN @ 10/3
Ran really well to be third in the Brown Advisory Novices’ Chase at the Cheltenham Festival last time out so is closely matched with the runner-up Gerri Colombe. The flatter track looks a plus and Paul Townend takes over in the saddle.
- 2.20pm The William Hill Handicap Hurdle Premier Handicap (Class 1) Grade 3 2m 4f ITV: SONIGINO @ 16/1
This Paul Nicholls runner has won 3 of his last four races – including last time at Huntingdon. This is harder but is only up 2lbs for that last win and in a very open race is the value call for Ruby.

Lightly raced Gordon Elliott runner that was a close second at Naas last time out. Should be a lot more to come.

Won the Manifesto Novices’ Chase here last season so we know the track suits. Last seen running down the field in the Ascot Chase to Shishkin, which was his first run back off a wind op. This would have been his target all season and Ruby feels he’s the value call over the top two in the betting – Pic D’Orhy and Fakir D’oudairies.

A horse Ruby will know well, being a Willie Mullins runner. 2019 Irish National winner and was 4th in the 2021 Grand National too. Into slightly calmer waters here but his experience of the National fences will be a plus and warmed up for this with a third to Longhouse Poet last time at Down Royal.

Has won his last four in the style of an improving 6 year-old. Up again in grade here and is up another 8lbs in the ratings. Yet, has been freshened up with 3 1/2 months off and looks overpirced to Ruby.
- 5.15pm The Abersoch Land and Sea Handicap Hurdle (Class 2) (Conditional & Amateur Jockeys) 2m ½f: GOATH CHUIL @ 8/1
Easy 5 length winner at Leopardstown last time out over 2m4f so that proven stamina will be a big plus here dropped in trip. The useful Shane O’Callaghan rides again to take off 7lbs and with this horse trained by Walsh’s father Ted Walsh, this Ruby Walsh Aintree tip could be significant.
