MASO BASTIE (system – Churchill, second-time out, 2yos)
Juvenile progeny of the sire Churchill have a poor record on their racecourse debuts with only two of the 111 runners winning. They tend to improve for the initial experience and if we’d backed all qualifiers on their second start, we’d have found 13 winners from 83 bets (15.7% strike rate) for a profit of £49.79 to a £1 level stake at SP. MASO BASTIE made an eyecatching debut at Kempton for the James Fanshawe yard and should go well under William Buick this afternoon.
DUNDALK 2.45
MAGNANIMOUS MEHMUS (system – sire Mehmas in AW nurseries)
Progeny of the sire Mehmas do well in nurseries (handicaps for two-year-olds) on the all-weather, winning 20 of their 100 starts (20% strike-rate) for a profit of £47.54 to a £1 level stake at SP. MAGNANIMOUS MEHMUS has shown promise in three turf starts and he may improve for this switch to the artificial surface at Dundalk.
KEMPTON 3.30
KADIMA IMPERIAL (system – John Butler, first-time tongue-tie)
Trainer John Butler is seven from 29 (21.1% strike rate) with his runners in a first-time tongue-tie for a huge profit of £141.83 to the usual £1 level stake at SP. The strike-rate improves to just over 30% (seven from 22) had we only backed the qualifiers on the all-weather. KADIMA IMPERIAL was a 20-1 winner on her last visit to Kempton and could be worth chancing on her return.
