MARKET RASEN 1.40
PICKS LAD (system – Harry Derham, stable switchers)
Harry Derham has a fine record at the first time of asking with horses he takes over from other yards, scoring with ten of the 27 qualifiers (27% strike-rate) for a profit of £51.78 to a £1 level stake at SP. PICKS LAD signed off last season with a Taunton win for Kim Bailey and can make a winning start for new connections.
MARKET RASEN 2.15
HENRY GRAY (system – Donald McCain, handicap chase debut)
Donald McCain has a good recent record with his handicap chase debutants, scoring with 16 of the 56 qualifiers since the beginning of 2021 for a profit of £38.43 to a £1 level stake at SP. Point-to-point winner HENRY GRAY will appreciate the switch to regulation fences after three runs in novice hurdles last term and can make a winning seasonal/chase debut.
TAUNTON 2.25
HEROS (system – Venetia Williams, handicap chasers in November)
This century, in-form Venetia Williams has a 121 from 610 record (19.8%) with her handicap chasers in the month of November for a profit of £206.71 to a £1 level stake at SP. She’s already seven from 14 (£28.95) on this system in 2023 and HEROS can add to recent gains.
TAUNTON 4.05
ATJIMA (system – Victor Dartnall, low-grade races at Taunton)
Victor Dartnall is 20 from 123 in Class E (now Class 5) or lower company at Taunton this century for a profit of £86.18 to a £1 level stake at SP. Those who finished worse than sixth on their latest outing were ten from 45 for a profit of £124.83. ATJIMA has a good record when fresh, is effective in big fields and can bounce back from her modest eighth of 13 at Ludlow on her final start last season.
