John Ryan’s PISTOLETTO has a solid record on the Polytrack at Lingfield, recording three of his top four RPRs (Racing Post Ratings) at the Surrey venue. He ran well on his last visit to the track in June, only beaten a length, when a 22-1 fourth of nine to Big Meeting in a course and distance handicap off a mark of 94 and is 12lb lower today. He returned to action after a short break with a respectable sixth of 12 in a 1m Kempton handicap and that will have put him spot on for this switch to his favourite venue. Buy in the 50-25-10 market or take a price in the Spreadex fixed odds betting.

BONKERSINABUNDANCE made an encouraging debut when a neck second to the Patrick Owens-trained Strawberry Belle in a 7f Brighton maiden and had excuses (failed to settle) when a disappointing favourite at Kempton next time. She was still green when returned to the Sunbury venue for her latest start, becoming outpaced before making good headway when the penny dropped inside the final furlong. Roger Varian’s filly looks like she’ll appreciate the step up to a mile this afternoon and the booking of James Doyle catches the eye. I’m also keen on the chances of BELIEVE YOU ME, she was sent off at 125-1 for her debut over 7f here last month but finished a promising sixth of 13 after missing the break and running green. The extra furlong will suit, and Heather Main’s second-time starters have a six from 45 record on the all-weather for a profit of more than £67 to a £1 stake. Being numbers two and three on the racecard respectively, selling DOUBLE NUMBER OF WINNER with Spreadex could be the best way to side with the pair.
