World Darts Championship Day 3 Tips

12:45 – Ricky Evans vs Simon Adams: Evans To Win, Highest Checkout & Most 180s @ 13/10

Ricky Evans is the overwhelming 1/7 favourite in this match-up, which leads me to look towards the match treble. He’s earned more than £500,000 in his career and as a fan favourite he’ll have the full backing of the Alexandra Palace crowd.

Adams mostly plays on the MODUS Super Series circuit and qualified for this tournament through the African qualifiers, but he’ll be facing a different calibre of player in Evans – who has won on this stage before.

‘Rapid’ Ricky has reached the last 32 at the World Championship on four occasions in 2014, 2016, 2020 and 2021. He’s the more experienced player here and he should make it out of the first round comfortably, as he has done for four straight years.

15:00 – Joe Cullen vs Darren Penhall: Cullen To Win & Most 180s @ 8/13

Joe Cullen‘s game probably isn’t where he wants it to be right now but that shouldn’t stop ‘The Rockstar’ from easing past Darren Penhall to reach the third round of the tournament.

He’s a huge price, available at 80/1 and bigger to become World Champion but it’s not like he’s had a horrendous year. Cullen still made the semi-finals of the World Matchplay and Grand Prix.

The Yorkshire man is a major winner and should have plenty to offer at Alexandra Palace. Darren Penhall impressed in the first round to upset Jules van Dongen, but his involvement likely ends here.

Cullen to win and most 180s looks the best bet here at 8/13.

20:45 – Luke Humphries vs Lee Evans: Humphries To Win, Highest Checkout & Most 180s @ 4/5

Luke Humphries heads in to the 2024 World Darts Championship as the bookie’s favourite – for good reason, following a stunning breakthrough year where he won three TV majors.

With triumph in the World Grand Prix, Grand Slam and Players Championship Finals, there’s no one in better form. Humphries has set the sport alight in 2023 and his confidence levels are higher than ever.

Lee Evans swept Sandro Eric Sosing aside with a 3-0 win in the first round but he faces a different animal in Humphries. Granted, Humphries hasn’t always put his best foot forward at Alexandra Palace in the past but he’s a completely different player.

4/5 is a very short price for match treble but it’s a fair representation of the tear he’s currently on.
