World Darts Championship Day 11 Tips
2:00pm – Joe Cullen vs Ryan Searle: Cullen To Win @ 11/10
Day 11 of the 2024 World Darts Championship features a number of star-studded match-ups but one that caught my eye in the pricing was Joe Cullen’s third round showdown with Ryan Searle.
The best new UK betting sites have Cullen as the 11/10 underdog to odds-on favourite Searle at 8/11. ‘The Rockstar’ is in the midst of his 15th consecutive appearance at Alexandra Palace and breezed past Darren Penhall in the second round.
Cullen threw six 180s when averaging 93 in that game, slightly better than Searle’s four maximums and average of 91. He’s made the last 16 here twice and if he gives a good account of himself on the oche, the Bradford-born major winner could be an intriguing prospect at odds against.
After winning the Masters in 2022 and finishing as the runner-up to Michael van Gerwen in the Premier League later that year, Cullen hasn’t progressed like he would’ve hoped but he made two semi-finals this year at the World Matchplay and Grand Prix.
Despite being the underdog for this match, Cullen holds better odds than Searle to win the tournament outright and he’s our pick to claim the spoils on Thursday afternoon.
7:15pm – Gerwyn Price vs Brendan Dolan: Price To Win, Most 180s & Highest Checkout @ 5/6
One of the tournament favourites in Gerwyn Price will look to reach the fourth round with victory over Brendan Dolan on Thursday night in North London and in doing so, getting the crowd on his side.
The Welshman has been vocal regarding his strained relationship with the ‘Ally Pally’ faithful but he had nothing but good things to say about the audience following his second round victory over Englishman Connor Scutt last time out.
Price won this tournament behind closed doors three years ago and it remains to be seen whether he has the mental toughness to overcome jeers in the packed out venue but if he continues to play at a high level it isn’t something he should need to worry about.
The seven-time major champion has a point to prove this year and we’re backing Price to complete the match treble over Brendan Dolan to progress through.
8:30pm – Luke Humphries vs Ricardo Pietreczko: Humphries To Win, Most 180s & Highest Checkout @ 6/5
The penultimate game of the night sees the red-hot Luke Humphries take on Ricardo Pietreczko for a spot in the last 16 of the tournament, and he looks a solid price at 6/5 for the match treble.
Humphries made history earlier this year by winning three PDC majors in quick succession at the World Matchplay, Grand Slam and Players Championship Finals which saw him begin the World Championship as the outright market leader.
He’s made the quarter-finals here on three occasions and it would be no surprise to see him go beyond that this time around considering the form he’s shown in recent times.
