Daniel Levy is reportedly eyeing up Marco Silva as the new Tottenham Hotspur manager as Antonio Conte’s contract nears its expiry at the end of the season.

According to Premier League betting sites, Conte is the second favourite to be the next top flight manager sacked behind West Ham’s David Moyes.

Reports suggest that if the Italian departs north London before the end of the season, Marco Silva is a leading candidate to take the reigns at Spurs.

Silva, 45, was appointed Fulham manager in July 2021 and led the team to an immediate promotion back to the Premier League – scoring 106 goals in the Championship.

The former Hull City, Watford and Everton boss is tied down at Fulham until the end of next season and the Cottagers are keen to come to terms on a contract extension.

Spurs currently sit fourth in the Premier League table, four points clear of Newcastle in fifth but the Geordies hold two games in hand over Conte’s side.

After being dumped out of the Champions League at the hands of AC Milan in midweek, the north Londoners responded with an emphatic 3-1 victory over Nottingham Forest.

Conte claimed that finishing in the top four this season would be just as impressive as winning the Premier League.

“We have to try to do our best and for sure I repeat for us to finish in the top four is like to win the Premier League. It happened last season and I spoke about miracle.”
