Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has been named Premier League Manager of the Month for January, after another fine month for the Gunners.

The Spaniard wins the Premier League Manager of the Month award for a second successive month, and for the third time this season.

Under Arteta’s guidance, the Gunners earned seven points from a possible nine throughout January, beating both Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United, as well as drawing 0-0 against Newcastle United.

These results have seen Arsenal remain at the helm of the Premier League table, putting them in good stead to win their first league title since 2003/04.

Premier League betting sites have the Gunners priced at around 8/11 to achieve this feat.

Arsenal’s unbeaten run in the league has now extended to 13 matches, making it their longest streak without a loss in the Premier League in five years.

Upon winning the award, Arteta reflected on his side’s recent form.

“After the World Cup break, you have certain questions – how is the team going to react, are we ready and have we lost that momentum?

“I don’t think we did, I think we used that time really well,” he said. “We were lucky not to have some big problems in that period and the team responded by winning a lot of games.

“It’s difficult to choose the best moment because we had some big ones, but obviously the game that we won away at Spurs was a key one.”

The last time anyone won back-to-back Premier League Manager of the Month awards was back in 2021, when Pep Guardiola did so in November and December.

Other nominees for the award were Steve Cooper, Roberto De Zerbi, Unai Emery and Thomas Frank.
