- 2:30pm – Norfolk Stakes (Group 2) (Fillies) (Class 1) (2yo) 5f: ELITE STATUS @ 5/4 with Paddy Power
Matt Chapman’s first tip on Thursday at Royal Ascot on Day 3 comes in the opening race of the afternoon in the Norfolk Stakes. The ITV Racing pundit is siding with Elite Status for trainer Karl Burke to win at 5/4 odds with the best horse racing betting sites.
‘Chappers’ is all over Elite Status who looks something super special for Karl Burke and Clifford Lee. It’s already been a good week for owner Sheikh Mohammed Obaid and this colt absolutely bolted up in the Listed National Stakes at Sandown from a horse who looked good on debut. Can use American Rascal as a pace maker.

The second tip for Matt Chapman on Day 3 of Royal Ascot comes in the form of Perfuse in the King George V Stakes.
Perfuse might need cut in the ground but he has a nice draw and will be strong at the trip so Chapman is taking a chance on him for Richard Kingscote and Sir Michael Stoute.
The son of Lope de Vega stayed on well to score at Doncaster last time and that was on good too form to this going might not be too much of an issue despite two early runs in testing conditions. A mark of 94 seems fair.

Matt Chapman’s next best bet on Day 3 at Royal Ascot comes in the Ribblesdale Stakes where he is siding with Infinite Cosmos.
Al Asifah will be all the rage here and she might be different class. But her presence means there is possibly some great value. The ITV Racing pundit is happy to take a chance and punt Infinite Cosmos for Sir Michael Stoute and Richard Kingscote.
The Musidora third was probably unsuited by making the running at York but she still ran well in third behind Soul Sister who went on to take the Oaks at Epsom. She will love the step up in trip and is a cracking eachway bet.
- 4:20pm – Ascot Gold Cup (Group 1) (Class 1) (4yo+) 2m 4f: YIBIR @ 10/1 with Paddy Power
The big one now. The featured race of the entire festival. It’s the Ascot Gold Cup. For the showpiece race, Matt Chapman is siding with Yibir as a 10/1 outsider with the best UK sports betting sites.
There are some much more obvious contenders than Yibir and Godolphin have not exactly been flying of late. But ‘Chappers’ is taking a chance on class with the Breeders’ Cup Turf hero who will drop out the back and then it’s just a case of whether he has the stamina for Charlie Appleby and William Buick.
This is not a vintage Gold Cup and if Yibir gets the trip – he is bred to stay – then he could well get in the mix and it’s exciting he’s just trying. The fast ground will help as it was firm when he scored at Del Mar.

A wide open event. Racingbreaks Ryder is up another 7lb for scoring at Ascot on his most recent outing but he still might be able to keep the great run going for Charlie Hills and James McDonald.
The selection stays this trip strongly and while he’s now up 18lb since the winning run started and the ITV Racing man is happy to chance him each-way.
- 5:35pm – Hampton Court Stakes (Group 3) (Class 1) (3yo) 1m 2f: WAIPIRO @ 10/1 with Paddy Power
Matt Chapman’s penultimate betting tip on Thursday at Royal Ascot sees him side with the Ed Walker-trained Waipiro in the Hampton Court Stakes.
Waipiro did not come up to scratch in the Derby, albeit a fair sixth, but he’s big odds here and is worth a try for Tom Marquand and Ed Walker. He should settle off a strong pace in this field and will appreciate a drop in distance.
His second at Lingfield was a really good effort and Chapman is not ready to give up on him quite yet.

Matt Chapman’s final tip on Day 3 at Royal Ascot comes in the final race of the day in the shape of Totally Charming as a 12/1 outsider with the best horse racing betting apps.
Totally Charming is high in the handicap now off 101 but is still capable of running a big race here for George Boughey. Billy Loughnane takes off a useful 3lb and he loves Ascot and was a fine eighth here in a big field last time.
He was ninth in the Hunt Cup last year over a bit further when weakening inside the final furlong.
