Liverpool vs Norwich Preview & Prediction (14:30 KO)

Off the back of the announcement that Jurgen Klopp will depart the club at the end of the season, high-flying Liverpool welcome Championship side Norwich to Anfield in the FA Cup fourth round on Sunday afternoon.

The Reds head into the clash enjoying a nine game unbeaten run, most recently drawing 1-1 with Fulham in the Carabao Cup semi-final. Despite being held to a stalemate, Klopp’s men secured their spot in next month’s final against Chelsea thanks to a 2-1 win on aggregate.

That result followed on from a mightily impressive 4-0 win over an in-form Bournemouth thanks to braces from Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota, which maintainted their five point lead at the top of the Premier League table.

As for Norwich, their five game unbeaten run across all competitions was brought to an end in midweek. A defeat to Leeds at Elland Road provided a slight blow to their play-off hopes, however they still remain in the race as they sit just two points behind sixth place Coventry in eighth.

This will be the Canaries’ first visit to Anfield in almost two years. That meeting also came in the FA Cup, and Liverpool reigned supreme in that one thanks to a first half brace from the now-departed  Takumi Minamino.

We at SportsLens anticipate another victory for the Reds this time around, but expect that it will be by a lengthier and more comfortable margin despite the absence of several first team stars.

Prediction: Liverpool 4-0 Norwich

Liverpool vs Norwich Betting Tips

  • Liverpool Over 2.5 Goals @ 1/2
  • Kenny McLean To Be Booked @ 11/2
  • Combined Bet Builder Odds @ 8.75/1

Liverpool vs Norwich Betting Tip 1: Liverpool Over 2.5 Goals @ 1/2

Our first tip for your Sunday afternoon Liverpool vs Norwich FA Cup fourth round bet builder is to back the Reds to score over 2.5 goals in the match, priced by leading UK betting sites at 1/2.

Klopp’s men have already proven that they can supply the goals in Mohamed Salah’s absence, netting twice against Arsenal in the last round, before scoring four against a strong Bournemouth team last time out in the Premier League.

Facing off against a significantly weaker side than the aforementioned pair, we expect the Reds to rain hell on the Canaries defence and are backing them to score at least three goals on Merseyside.

Liverpool vs Norwich Betting Tip 2: Kenny McLean To Be Booked @ 11/2

Norwich stalwart Kenny McLean remains an integral part of the Norfolk-based club’s team despite now being 32-years-old, and is one of the first names on David Wagner’s team sheet.

The Scotsman has made 32 appearances for the Canaries this season (second most), playing 2,758 minutes in the process (second most), which suggests that he’s almost certain to start in midfield on Sunday.

Going head-to-head with the likes of Curtis Jones, Alexis Mac Allister, Ryan Gravenberch and more, we’ve identified McLean as a likely source for a yellow card. The ex-Aberdeen man already has six to his name this term (second most in squad), and it would come as little surprise to see him add a seventh against one of the best teams in England.

Priced by some of the best football betting sites at 11/2, we at SportsLens are backing McLean to receive a yellow card against Liverpool on Sunday afternoon.
