In the latest Liverpool transfer news, the Reds will no longer face a battle with Bayern Munich for Mason Mount’s services after a report ruled the Germans out of signing the midfielder.
Liverpool Transfer News
Yesterday, news broke of a potential move from Bayern Munich for Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount.
It came following the surprise sacking of Julian Nagelsmann by the Bavarian club, and the appointment of former Blues boss Thomas Tuchel.
Tuchel has been appointed on a three-year deal, and has previous connections to Mount having won the Champions League together back in 2021.
The German also admitted that he is ‘confident’ in bringing Chelsea‘s assistant boss Anthony Barry to the Allianz Arena, with the Englishman staying away from Blues training whilst negotiations are ongoing.
Due to this, and several other factors, a move for Mount didn’t seem too far-fetched.
However, respected German journalist Christian Falk has since debunked the rumours.
“Mason Mount of Chelsea FC was not an issue in the talks between Thomas Tuchel and Bayern Munich,” said Falk.
“The new coach wants to get an overview of the squad first. The midfield in particular is more than adequate. For further transfers, players would first have to be sold.”

This will no doubt see Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp breathe a sigh of relief.
The Reds have been long term admirers of the English midfielder, and are the favourites to secure his services this summer – priced at 8/11.
Jude Bellingham’s move to Liverpool looks increasingly unlikely by the day, so a move for Mount to enhance midfield options may be the more likely option.
Regardless of where he ends up, the 24-year-old looks very likely to leave Stamford Bridge in the summer – following a disappointing campaign under Graham Potter.
