New Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel has wasted no time in raiding former club Chelsea for talent and wants to bring Mason Mount to the Allianz Arena this summer.

Liverpool remain favourites to sign Mason Mount despite Bayern Munich interest

Mason Mount looks to be on his way out of Chelsea in the upcoming summer transfer window amidst a disappointing campaign for the 24-year-old who has struggled to find form this season.

In 23 Premier League appearances, a return of three goals and two assists from Mount is considered subpar in comparison to previous years. In the last campaign he tallied 11 goals and ten assists, leading Chelsea to a third place finish.

According to the latest odds from Premier League betting sites, Mount’s next destination is most likely to be Liverpool as the Reds brace to miss out on Jude Bellingham.

Last week, Bayern Munich announced the surprise sacking of Julian Nagelsmann who is now the subject of interest from the likes of Spurs and Real Madrid. Thomas Tuchel was appointed as manager on a three-year deal, having been out of a job since September.

According to The Times, Chelsea are expected to demand a fee of up to £50 million for Mount. Tuchel managed the 24-year-old for over a year and the pair became Champions League winners together in 2021.

Mount undeniably had his best season in a blue shirt under Tuchel and doesn’t look like the same player under Graham Potter. Chelsea’s addition of Enzo Fernandez has made it even more difficult for the Cobham graduate to find consistent minutes.

Tuchel also admitted he is ‘confident’ of bringing Chelsea’s assistant coach Anthony Barry to Bayern Munich, who has agreed to stay away from Blues training during negotiations with the German side.
