Andy Newton’s ‘LAY OF THE DAY’ Horse Racing Tip On Wednesday: 3:10pm Sedgefield – SAWPIT SIENNA
SAWPIT SIENNA was a winner last time out at Taunton, but that day she scrambled home by just a neck.
As a result, the handicapper has raised her 6lbs, which takes this 9 year-old back up to a mark of 90 and she’s yet to win off this rating. She’s raced four times over hurdles between 90-91 and finished 4th-5th-2nd and 4th.
Yes, some might argue she’s got a 5lb claimer on here in Ned Fox to help on that score, but two of those 90-rated runs she also had claiming jockeys on her back.
The other negative is this 4-time winning hurdler has raced 26 times over the sticks and is also yet to record a back-to-back win. While her only run here at Sedgefield (3 runs ago) resulted in a well-beaten 7th (of 10), which came off a 4lb lower mark.
We’ll also have eight others all with squeaks on our side, including Midnight Shuffle from the in-form Stuart Coltherd camp. Plus Telefenney for the Oliver Greenhall & Josh Guerriero yard, whjo boast a solid 50% SR with their hurdlers at this venue.

What Is Lay Betting On Horse Racing?
In short lay betting is to bet on something NOT to happen.
With the introduction of betting exchanges like Betfair, punters can now bet on a horse or a team NOT to win by effectively becoming a bookmaker.
This can be done by staking against a horse or team on a betting exchange.
For example, if you think a horse won’t win a race and it’s 3.00 (2/1). Then you could lay this horse for £10.
If the horse loses, you will win £10 (less any set commission). Or if the horse wins you will have to pay out £20 (just like a bookmaker would).

You can see the liability if the horse wins would be £18. Or if the horse loses you will win £10 (less any commission).
