Lautaro Martinez has still not penned his new contract at Inter Milan – but there is no sign yet of a late move to bring him to the Premier League.

Lautaro Martinez Next Club

Chelsea have been linked with the centre-forward in recent weeks after considering him in the summer. A genuine goalscorer remains the top target for the Blues this month and if they were to bid for the Inter star, the Serie A leaders would likely at least consider it.

Arsenal could do with reconsidering the Argentinian at a time when the goals have dried up, having tried to snap him up in 2021. Like Mauricio Pochettino’s side, the Gunners would need to move quickly if they were serious about acquiring his services this month.

However, sources verify that no offers of a move are on the table right now—even though the idea of playing in England has always been of interest. A new deal at Inter is anticipated. Insiders have told SportsLens that while the terms of a new contract with Inter are not complete, it is likely he commits his future to the Italian giants.

New Inter Deal For Lautaro Martinez

The player confirmed his intentions this weekend saying: “There is not long to go before we can sign the renewal, it is down to the details. We are talking and on the right track.”

But a January bid would throw such a moment into fresh uncertainty. Inter are suffering tricky financial times and have a tendency to cash in on high profile players to improve their situation.

It is felt the player would be priced somewhere in the region of £80-100million in the current market. Another option to consider from Italy though – at a cheaper rate – would be Paulo Dybala.

He has a release clause at Roma that could see him move for just £10million. But that clause runs out on January 15 so potential suitors would need to act quickly. If any English club was to trigger the clause, it would be up to Dybala to decide if he wants to explore it.
