Why will horse racing NAP of the Day Blackbeard win?
Aidan O’Brien has saddled more winners of the 6f Group 1 Middle Park Stakes at Newmarket (3:00) than any other trainer, so the top betting sites in the UK may have made a mistake in not having BLACKBEARD as their overnight favourite. A previous scorer at the highest level, this juvenile No Nay Never colt has had a busy campaign.
That also means Blackbeard has the best form on offer. A fine winner of the Prix Morny in France last time out, defeating re-opposing rival Persian Force, he tops official ratings for this feature event at Newmarket races today off a mark of 115. A low draw (stalls 1-4) has produced the winner of this in each of the last four years.
With Blackbeard jumping out of gate number two today, he’s perfectly placed to add a second Group 1 to his CV here. He thus rates our horse racing NAP of the Day for 24 September. A £10 punt on Blackbeard with 888Sport returns £37.50 if he can follow-up and make it six wins from eight career starts.

Punters should Appreciate in-form Harris yard at Market Rasen
In the feature Prelude Handicap Hurdle over an extended 2m at Market Rasen races today (4:05), joint bottom weight APPRECIATE ticks plenty of boxes. Recent winners of this contest have been towards the foot of the handicap, and his trainer Milton Harris does well with young jumpers like him.
The stable brings a 38 per cent strike rate during the last fortnight into today. Harris has a 21 per cent win ratio with his runners over hurdles this season too, so horse racing betting sites are right to respect at Appreciate. Nudged up another 3lb to 107 for his game victory at Newton Abbot eight days ago, he’s quickly turned out.
Appreciate has won over further and meets Stratford conqueror Eagle’s Realm off 5lb better terms. With little more than a length between the pair on that form and race result, it gives him every chance of turning the tables. Regular jockey Mitchell Bastyan is also bang in-form in the saddle, so Appreciate is our NB bet to the horse racing NAP of the Day this Saturday and worth backing each way, especially with bookies paying four places.

Lezoo well worth backing each way for Cheveley Park Stakes
Back at Newmarket, earlier on the card is the 6f Group 1 Cheveley Park Stakes for juvenile fillies (2:25) where LEZOO looks a solid each way bet. Trained by Ralph Beckett, this daughter of Zoustar is a July Course winner at this venue who now tackles the Rowley Mile track for the first time.
Controversially not awarded the Duchess Of Cambridge Stakes here at the July Festival, Lezoo went on to prove she is a Group filly with a length victory at Ascot races before a break. With Frankie Dettori suspended, in-form champion jockey elect William Buick takes the ride for the first time now. He has a 35 per cent strike rate in the saddle over the last 14 days.
This demands more than previous assignments, but Lezoo comes here fresher than the rest of the field. She looks a bit of each way value at 8/1 with 888Sport in a race where there may be less to time between the market principals than the handicapper thinks. Our horse racing NAP of the Day also runs at Newmarket in the other Group 1. New customers that sign up and bet £10 on any of our selections qualify for £40 bonuses…
