Henry De Bromhead With Two Runners On Cheltenham Day 1
Henry De Bromhead has never been the top trainer at the Cheltenham Festival but has lots of excellent horses running at this year’s meeting. However, the Irish trainer has won the Gold Cup the past two years with Minella Indo and A Plus Tard respectively. Plus, he’s also won the last two Champion Hurdles with Honeysuckle.
The 50-year-old racing trainer will be hoping to replicate this form with a stellar showing at the 2023 Cheltenham Festival.
De Bromhead has 18 winners to his name in the Cheltenham Festival over the years. This includes two Gold Cup’s, two Champion Hurdles and three Queen Mother Champion Chases to name but a few.
On Day 1, Henry De Bromhead has two runners on Tuesday 14th March. These runners include Honeysuckle, who is fancied for the Mares’ Hurdle (4:10) – a race she won back in 2020.

The two-time Gold Cup winner with Minella Indo (2021) and A Plus Tard (2022) also has two runners on day one along with Honeysuckle on Day 1.
The Irish trainer has plenty of big chances throughout the Cheltenham Festival with the likes of Honeysuckle in the Mares’ Hurdle, Envoi Allen in the Ryanair Chase and of course A Plus Tard and Minella Indo in the Gold Cup to name but a few. However, he certainly has a few chances on Day 1 too at Cheltenham this year to get off to a flying start.
De Bromhead is also priced at 25/1 as the fourth favourite to be the 2023 Cheltenham Festival Top Trainer.
