According to reports, Fulham have completed the signing of Cedric Soares on a loan deal for the remainder of the season.

The side from west London have made it a deadline day double after the signing of Sasa Lukic, with Cedric Soares undertaking a medical to finalise the deal. The 30-year-old has been at Arsenal for 3 years but has struggled to break into the first-team under Mikel Arteta.

The deal faced some minor issues as in order for Cedric to sign, Fulham needed to terminate an existing loan deal or make it a permanent signing. Teams cannot have more than two loan players from a fellow Premier League side and it is still unknown how Marco Silva’s side made room for Cedric’s arrival.

Fulham currently occupy seventh in the Premier League, and have been one of the league’s surprise packages. Marco Silva was looking to strengthen during this transfer window and there had also been talks with FC Twente right-back, Joshua Brenet. However that move is unlikely to happen as Cedric was the club’s main target.

Silva had clearly set his sights on signing a right-back before the deadline to bring some more competition for the in-form Kenny Tete. Cedric has appeared 38 times in the Premier League during his two-and-a-half seasons at Arsenal, with only 4 of them coming this season.
