The FIFA World Cup is one of the world’s most prestigious sporting events, and there’s no better feeling than watching your nation on the grandest stage of them all – especially when they reach special milestones.
England became the seventh team in history to score 100 goals in the World Cup when Marcus Rashford produced his second goal of the game as he cut back and fired a left footed effort through the legs of Danny Ward as England defeated Wales .

Who Makes The List?
England – 100
The Three Lions joined the elite list in their final group game of the 2022 Qatar World Cup when Marcus Rashford grabbed his second goal of the night firing a clever left footed effort past Danny Ward as England beat Wales 3-0. It was a special night for England in many ways, as they secured their qualification for the last-16 of the competition, as well as joining the World Cup 100 Club.
Spain – 107
Spain are the second newest addition to this list. In their 7-0 thumping of Costa Rica, it was a scoreline that propelled the La Roja to the 100 goal mark. The Spaniards have appeared in 16 World Cup’s, including a triumph 12 years ago in South Africa, could we see history repeat itself? There’s no reason why not as they’ve been in fine form so far in Qatar. It was Dani Olmo’s strike that got Spain over the line.

France – 124
France have been a strong force in international football since time began, and they’ve always had top class players, winning the tournament twice in their history. And Despite only winning it twice, they’re still one of the few teams to score over 100 goals in the tournament.
Their 100th came back in Brazil 2014 with a goal than who else but Olivier Giroud when Les Blues annihilated Switzerland in the second group stage match, and since then have added 24 more goals to their tally, alongside a second World Cup win in 2018.
Italy – 127
Italy have won the World Cup four times in their history, despite not even qualifying for Qatar 2022 and Russia 2018. They’ve appeared in 18 tournaments, out of 22. Their 100th goal came in the 1998 tournament, which was scored by Roberto Baggio in a 3-0 win over Cameroon.
Argentina – 138
Argentina are South America’s second most successful country, lifting the World Cup on two occasions, in 1978 and 1986. They’re the third most prolific country in World Cup history. They’ve gone from Diego Maradona, to Lionel Messi in the last couple of decades, and they have plenty more talent coming through the ranks for Messi to pass the baton to eventually.
However, it was Claudio Lopez who scored the 100th goal for the Argentines back in the 1998 World Cup. He scored against the Netherlands, in a game which the Albiceleste were actually knocked out.
Brazil – 226
Brazil have won the World Cup more than any other country, lifting the trophy five times. Their most recent triumph came in 2002, and many tip them to repeat history 20 years later.
It was who else but Pele who scored Brazil’s 100th World Cup goal in the 1970 final, which Brazil won 4-1 against Italy.
Germany – 230
Germany have the most goals in World Cup history and have won the competition four times, however depending on how far they go in this year’s tournament, they could find themselves losing their top spot.
Four years after Brazil hit 100 in 1970, Germany scored their 100th goal in the 1974 World Cup final. It was Paul De Breitner who scored with a penalty kick, and Germany eventually went on to lift the trophy.
