Aston Villa go into the top four after dismantling Brighton in a rampant first half at Villa Park. Aston Villa top four odds are now 6/1.

Many predicted a close game when two of last seasons surprise packages met for the early kick-off at Villa Park. The hosts quickly showed that they weren’t there to mess around against the visiting Seagulls.

After just 14 minutes, Ollie Watkins opened the scoring after being found by Matty Cash. Seven minutes later the English scored had his second.

Things went from bad to worse for Brighton as their full back Pervis Estupiñán put the ball into his own net to kill the game before half-time.

Roberto De Zerbi made three changes at half-time to try and turn things around. They did score the games fourth goal, on-loan Barcelona man, Ansu Fati, scored for the visitors.

However, the couldn’t capitalise on their goal. Watkins found the net yet again for Villa. He secured his hat-trick in front of England manager Gareth Southgate. The goal was Villa’s fourth on the day and Watkins 50th Premier League goal for the club.

Watkins then turned provider after his three goals. He set up Jacob Ramsey who scored the sixth goal of the game. Not finished with five, Douglas Luiz added a sixth as the game finished 6-1.
