Ahead of the second legs of the 2022/23 Champions League semi-finals, we’re taking a look at the squad values of this season’s Champions League semi-finalists; Manchester City, Real Madrid, Inter Milan & AC Milan.

The first legs of this season’s Champions League semi-finals didn’t throw up any major surprises.

Real Madrid took on Manchester City at the Santiago Bernabeu in the first offing of their tie, where Vinicius Junior opened the scoring, before Kevin De Bruyne drew Pep Guardiola’s side level.

They face off in the second leg with all to play for at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday evening.

A Milan derby in the second semi-final means the San Siro hosts both legs, with AC Milan being the official ‘hosts’ last week as they fell to a 2-0 defeat.

Early goals for Inter from Edin Dzeko and Henrikh Mkhitaryan set the tone for the tie, as Milan were unable to find a way back into the match on the evening.

For the second leg on Tuesday however, the Rossoneri will be boosted by the rumoured return of star-man Rafael Leao, who missed last week’s clash through injury.

Ahead of Tuesday and Wednesday night’s highly anticipated Champions League semi-final second legs, we’re taking a look at the squad values of all four sides, and comparing the disparity in values between both semi-finals, per Transfermarkt.

According to Transfermarkt, Guardiola’s squad is worth £1.05 billion, which is £190m more than their semi-final opponents Real Madrid.

Los Blancos’ squad is worth £860.80m, which has them in second place in terms of total squad value between the semi-finalists.

The combined squad value of both City and Real in the first semi-final is a whopping £1.9108bn (£1,910,800,000).

When looking at the values of both of the Milan sides in the other semi-final – it is no where near that of the Citizens’ and Real.

Just £12.8m separate the rivals’ total squad values, with AC Milan valued higher at £547.25m, whilst Inter are valued at £534.45m.

Combined, this gives the Milan duo a total squad value of £1.0817bn (£1,081,700,000) – £829.10m lower than the combined value of Manchester City and Real Madrid.
