An anonymous William Hill punter has landed an incredible £35,000 from just a £5 stake after correctly predicting all seven Day One winners at the Cheltenham Festival.

William Hill Punter Lands £35k Cheltenham Day One Seven-Fold

One lucky Cheltenham Festival punter got off to a perfect start on Day One by backing every single winner in a seven-fold, seeing them pocket an impressive sum of almost £35,000.

The anonymous William Hill bettor is one of many to have a strong start to the festival after a trio of Willie Mullins favourites provided winners for thousands across the nation, as the bookies suffered a bad day at the office.

Gaelic Warrior (5/2), State Man (4/11) and Lossiemouth (4/6) make up the hat-trick of Mullins winners, with Slade Steel (9/2), Chianti Classico (11/2), Lark In The Mornin (6/1) and Corbetts Cross (5/2) reigning triumphant across the other four races.

All seven of the horses were backed to win their respective races within the punter’s seven-fold accumulator, earning the lucky William Hill customer an incredible 34,825.94 payout from a mere £5 stake.

A spokesperson for William Hill, Lee Phelps, said: “It wasn’t a good Day One of the Cheltenham Festival for us, and one lucky punter took bookie bashing to the extreme as they went through the card to land a near £35k payout from just a £5 stake.

“Rachael Blackmore got the accumulator off to a flyer when Slade Steel won the Supreme, followed by all three of Willie Mullins’ hotshots flying home at short prices, either side of Chianti Classico’s triumph in the Ultima.

“Neither of the final two races were won by favourites, but this punter had a keener eye than most to pick Lark In The Mornin in the Boodles, before Corbetts Cross romped home by 17 lengths in the last, to comfortably bring home almost £35k.”
