Kasper Schmeichel has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge. It comes after Kepa Arrizabalaga completed a loan move to Real Madrid.

Chelsea have seen two ‘keepers leave, this summer, with Robert Sanchez coming on for £25million to the Bridge.

Now, after Kepa completed his loan move to La Liga side Real Madrid, Chelsea are looking at a Premier League winner to compete with Sanchez.

Schmeichel won the Premier League with Leicester City during their magical 1000/1 season. He left for Nice at the start of last season but is interested in a move back to England.

Even better for Chelsea, Schmeichel will be a cheap option. He left Leicester City last season for just £1million last summer, which is around the same Chelsea can expect to pay for him. Though money hasn’t been an issue for Chelsea in recent transfer deals.

Would Schmeichel Be A Good Fit?

Sanchez may be Chelsea’s first choice this season. He fits the ball playing goalkeeper that most Premier League teams want.

Schmeichel is more than capable of playing with the ball and even at the age of 36, he’s keen to make sure he’s playing at the top level.

Last season in Ligue 1, Schmeichel played 36 games, conceding just 35 goals. He also helped Nice reach the quarter-finals of the Conference League. All while still playing at international level with Denmark.

Adding the quality of Schmeichel will help Chelsea as they look to battle for trophies on multiple fronts.

Schmeichel does fit the bill for Chelsea and Chelsea will be an attractive prospect for Schmeichel. We could see the Dane make a return to England after just one year away.
