According to reports, Chelsea are in the running to sign Inter Milan striker, Lautaro Martinez, as the continue their search for a striker.
The Argentinean striker has been a consistent member of Inter Milan’s squad, scoring 102 goals and contributing with 26 assists in 238 appearances.
Performances in the 2022-23 campaign cemented his place amongst Europe’s elite, as Martinez contributed to 39 goals in all competitions.
The Nerazzurri had gone into the 2022-23 season as one of favourites to win the Serie A title, however Simone Inzaghi was unable to clinch the trophy and his side finished third.
In the Champions League, on the other hand, Inter were drawn into a “group of death” with European giants Barcelona and Bayern Munich. However, after progressing through the opening stage, Inzaghi’s side made their way to the final – losing to Manchester City 1-0.
Despite this display in Europe, a host of star players are expected to leave, as Andre Onana has attracted interest from Manchester United and Martinez is a reported target for Chelsea.

The Blues had a poor campaign, as they finished 12th in the Premier League and recorded the lowest points tally in the club’s history.
Former Brighton manager, Graham Potter, was hired in September and was sacked after just six-months following a poor run of results.
His replacement, Frank Lampard, was unable to improve life at Stamford Bridge and the Blues ended the season without a single victory over any side in the top six.
Summer additions have been made a priority this summer, as the club have been linked with Moises Caicedo, Victor Osimhen and now, Lautaro Martinez.
The Inter Milan striker still has three-years remaining on his current deal, meaning the club will be asking for around £80m for his services.
