The 2023 Grand National is just hours away now with the biggest horse race on planet earth taking centre stage at Aintree. Ahead of the Grand National showpiece, Sky Sports Racing expert Alex Hammond has given her fancies for the big one at 5.15pm today.

Alex Hammond Grand National Tip (Saturday 15th April 2023)
Highly-knowledgeable racing pundit and well known for picking huge winners, Hammond has offered her verdict for this year’s Grand National Festival.
Although it is unclear as to what order she believes these six horses will finish in, we have listed their individual ‘to place’ odds below as well as their Grand National odds to win.

Alex Hammond Tips At Aintree For The 2023 Grand National
Gaillard Du Mesnil to PLACE @ 7/4 to WIN @ 11/1
Alex Hammond’s first fancy for the 2023 Grand National comes in the form of the Willie Mullins-trained Gaillard Du Mesnil. Mullins won the Irish Grand National at the beginning of the week with I Am Maximus, and looks to have a few chances today in the Aintree showpiece race.
National Hunt Chase winner at Cheltenham, Gaillard Du Mesnil looks a smart type but this race may come a bit too soon for the 7-year-old. Hammond likes his chances though.
Galvin to PLACE @ 10/3 to WIN @ 22/1
Hammond’s next fancy comes in the form of the Gordon Elliott-trained Galvin. Stablemate to one of the favourites Delta Work, this 9-year-old is giving weight away but should strip fitter for that run last month in the Cheltenham Cross Country Chase.
Galvin certainly has the class and will be ridden by Davy Russell. It would be a memorable way to end his career if he were to win the 2023 Grand National with Galvin.
Delta Work to PLACE @ 11/8 to WIN @ 9/1
Hammond’s next tip is the sharp Delta Work. He has been a class above most of his cross-country rivals, including the great Tiger Roll when beating the duel National winner on his swansong at Cheltenham back in 2022. He came third last year and is down 1lb in the weights. Looks to have a real chance this year and certainly one of the leading contenders.
The Big Dog to PLACE @ 15/8 to WIN @ 12/1
The Big Dog came third in the Welsh National and is another of Alex Hammond’s Grand National fancies. He is a classy horse who should make his presence felt at Aintree. Has proven stamina as a stayer and brings strong form to the table here.
Our Power to PLACE @ 3/1 to WIN @ 20/1
Hammond’s fifth Grand National fancy is the Welsh-based Our Power. There has only been one Welsh-trained winner in the history of the National, but Hammond likes the look of this 8-year-old. San Twiston-Davies takes the reigns this afternoon.
Our Power has won four of his eight starts over fences and won at Kempton in February despite his yard being out of form at the time. He is bred to race on the flat but has really stepped up since switching to the longer trip over fences.
Le Milos to PLACE @ 9/4 to WIN @ 14/1
Alex Hammond’s sixth and final Grand National fancy is the English-trained Coral Cup winner Le Milos for the Skelton yard. He looks a dour stayer who should be capable of seeing out the extra distance here. Decent chance at tempting Grand National odds.
