Sevilla have confirmed the loan departure of former Manchester United winger Adnan Januzaj which sees him join Istanbul Basaksehir for the remainder of the season.

The Belgian began his career at Manchester United where he was dubbed to be the Red Devils next superstar. However due to a run of poor performances the winger was sold to Real Sociedad after unsuccessful loan moves to Borussia Dortmund and Sunderland.

Januzaj found some form in La Liga but never reached the heights that were expected from him after his Manchester United debut. Real Sociedad released the 27-year-old at the end of last season after a poor campaign, contributing to eight goals in 43 appearances.

Sevilla signed the Belgium international where he has failed to impress appearing six times and is yet to register a goal contribution.

The six-time Europa League winners said: “As a Sevilla player, Januzaj’s record in these months in which he has worn the Nervión shirt can be summed up in six games; two in LaLiga Santander, one in the Copa del Rey and three in the UEFA Champions League.

Istanbul Basaksehir sit in third and are eleven points behind Galatasary in first-place. Januzaj could make his debut when Istanbul Basaksehir travel to Alanyaspor.
